Sigrún Björk Jakobsdóttir

Chairman of the Board

Sigrún Björk Jakobsdóttir was appointed Chairman of the Board at the Annual General Meeting on the 7th of April, 2016. She has served on the Boards of various companies, organisations, institutions and committees and has extensive experience in the field of tourism and local government Sigrún graduated from the IHTTI Hotel management school in Switzerland in 1990 and worked in the tourism industry for many years, both in the hotel and travel planning environment. Sigrún was a town counsellor in Akureyri from 2002 -2010, President of the town council from 2006-2007 and Mayor of Akureyri between 2007 and 2009. She is currently the Manager of the Icelandair hotel in Akureyri.

Svava was first appointed to Landsnet’s Board in June of 2018. She had previously been a reserve member of the board. She has served on the boards of numerous companies and has extensive experience in management.

Ólafur was first appointed to Landsnet‘s Board in June of 2018. He had previously been a reserve member of the board. He is a part-time lecturer at the University of Akureyri.
